Adding Rituals Into Your Life

Magic in your mundane.

Ritual can be defined as a religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order. It is a ceremonial act or set of actions that can be used to achieve a desired outcome.

Rituals can be used to:

~ ground yourself

~ move through heavy emotions

~ calm your nervous system

~ create the feeling of ‘home’ wherever you are

~ create predictability to trigger your brain to tell my body that it is safe

~ feel connected to others & your environment

~ achieve the things you want in life

~ connect with your Higher Self

~ find magic in the mundane

So what kind of rituals can you add into you life?

* Meditation practice: this can be done morning or evening. it can include breathing exercises, affirmations, burning of sage, working with crystals, sitting in silence to reflect or set intentions or simply using a guided meditation

* Connecting with others: loneliness contributes to higher rates of depression, anxiety & can contribute to poor physical health. could you create a tradition around connection with family & friends? this could look like going for a surf & coffee with your best mate every Saturday morning or heading to the farmers markets with your partner every Sunday to do groceries for the week

* Morning routine: how can you make your morning routine a little more productive & enjoyable? figure out some of your goals. weight loss, flexibility, healthier eating, more water consumption, more time in nature {whatever it may be} & create a ritual around them to make it more enjoyable & productive

My current morning ritual:

~ after I wake, have a big glass of lemon water to flush toxins & hydrate followed by a detox tea

~ walk for 30 minutes in nature

& swim in the ocean

~ put kettle on + stretch

& enjoy my morning coffee with medicinal mushrooms

~ shower & run cold for last minute

Desired outcomes: reduce inflammation & connect with nature & Self daily

Try adding some magic into your mundane!
