The Practice of Gratitude
Gratitude. Attitude.
One of the most powerful tools we all have as being human being is the practice of gratitude. gratitude is a tool you can use to support while navigating through hard times, even though at times it may feel challenging to see the light in times of darkness.
Even if we feel we don’t have much or are going through extreme adversity, it is always possible to say at least one thing you’re grateful for. it can be anything that brings you a small bit of joy, peace and happiness.
Small things to be grateful for:
~ your morning coffee
~ sleeping in the safety of your home each night
~ cuddles with your doggo
~ an ocean swim
~ your favourite home cooked meal
~ a night out dancing with friends
~ the perfect conditions for a surf
~ spending time with loved ones
~ a big belly laugh
~ a road trip just because
~ a good morning text
~ hearing someone say I love you
~ having a day with little to no anxiety
~ your breath
Gratitude can lift your spirits, keep you focused on the present moment and ground you during difficult times. It can support you in shifting your perspective from a negative mind set to a positive one. Just remember, your thoughts create your feelings.
Practicing this daily can be of benefit to your overall well-being. Start with 3 things a day and gradually build to writing a page dedicated to gratitude as part of your daily ritual.
